Curator #176: Marçal Sala

I’m Marçal Sala (@marcal_sala) and I was born in 1989 in l’Ametlla del Vallès, near Barcelona.

I love many things, such as sports, wildlife, sharing time with my friends, landscapes, politics … and learning. In fact, I’m a passionate about learning new things.

I am a political scientist and that has taken me to work in very different institutions in Catalonia. I have been in our national audit office, the Sindicatura de Comptes, one of the oldest audit offices in Europe, and I have also worked in many city councils, the Department of Universities and Research of the Catalan Government and in Public Diplomacy.

I am not only interested in politics as a student but also as a citizen and that’s why since 2015 I’m an elected member of my hometown city council. Local politics can be much more interesting than it seems, and most importantly, they can be incredibly useful to help people.

Currently, I am working in a young and small company while studying an MBA, slowly but constantly preparing some amazing professional projects. It’s a little high workload, added to my political responsibilities, but I’d rather be busy than bored!

I’m very happy to be curator for this week. These days I’ll share a little bit of my life with you, hope you enjoy it as much as I will!
