My name is Carles Gómara. I was born in Barcelona the 7th of January of 1970 (07/1/70). I am graduated in Computer Science at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), and ESADE’s MBA with an internship in Kenan-Flagler business school of the University of North Caroline.
It is funny because you decide what you will study next 5 years with very little information (at least in my case), but I am very happy with my choice. I was lucky. One of the most important things I learnt was that if you have to face a big problem, just split it into several smaller problems, and then find a solution for each one. (the second one is: if something works … don’t touch it)
I spent my first years developing software, now I am working for the Government of Catalonia in @ACCIO_cat developing projects related with Technology. One these projects is be responsible of the participation of the Generalitat of Catalonia in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) where we foster the participation of 60 catalan companies as exhibitors, and we do the same with a smaller group for the MWC of Shanghai.
Besides my work, I have several hobbies: photography, cooking, trekking, and try new things … I have dived in the Red Sea and was one of my most unforgettable experiences in my life.
I like to travel, especially in Asia, and I also have an special feeling with my trip to The Gambia in Africa. Latam is in my future travel schedule.
This week as @catalanvoices curator I will share with you insights on my job related to #technology and #mobileTrends during my attendance to the Mobile World Congress in Shanghai. We have organized with the Mobile World Capital foundation, Ajuntament de Barcelona and the Minetur a business trip with 16 companies.
