My name is Júlia Strubell i Prats (@j_strubell). I am 26 and so far I’ve lived in 3 continents. I graduated as a top 5 percentile student at ESADE Business School in Barcelona, I also studied in Australia and I am now working in the United States.
I am happy to be part of the Catalonia Trade & Investment (@accio_cat) team in Miami, where I’ve been assisting companies from Catalonia wishing to expand their business into the US since 2013. I am very lucky to be part of the team that founded the successful project of Catalan Wines USA (@catalanwinesusa): so far we have promoted the wines and cavas of 42 winemakers all around the US. Over 70% of the wineries have reached commercial agreements with US companies during their participation in the project.
In my free time, I am Director of the Catalan Institute of America in Miami (@CatInsAmMIA), a non profit organization that brings the Catalan community in Miami together, through cultural, gastronomic, sports and business-related events. I also coordinate the actions of the Catalan National Assembly in the state of Florida (@ANC_USA), another non profit organization that campaigns for Catalonia’s independence.
I have the honor of being curator of the Catalan Voices Twitter account during probably the most interesting week in 2015, right after the de facto referendum on independence held on September 27th. Apart from sharing my nostalgic thoughts when I fly back to Miami on Tuesday after my holidays in Barcelona and Palamós (Costa Brava), I will discuss the Election results and give my personal opinion on the issue. Are you on board?
