Curator #131: Antoni Rojas

ArojasI’m Antoni Rojas Rabaneda (@arojasENG (EN) @arojasrabaneda (CAT) on twitter). I was born and I am living in Girona. I will be your curator of @Catalanvoices from Monday September 14 to Sunday September 20. It’s a pleasure to participate on Catalan voices.

I’m Historian and archaeologist. Since 2007 I work as Head of the Projects and Communication Unit at the Catalan Institute for Cultural Heritage Research.

In the area of research, I’m specialized in Iberian culture (which is the subject of my doctoral thesis), as well as the uses of cultural heritage. Besides that, I have conducted several archaeological excavations among which would highlight the settlement of Sant Sebastià de la Guarda (Palafrugell, Baix Empordà) for ten years. I’m a participating member of Research Group Archeology and Prehistory Laboratory and the Institute of Historical Research at the University of Girona (UdG). I have taught the subject “Protohistory of the Iberian Peninsula” as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Girona.

In the area of ICT and communication, I have a specific training in the use of social networks at corporate level and the dissemination of research and knowledge. I coordinate the ICPRC’s web content and blog, and manages its social networks. In the field of communication and the presentation of research to the general public, I have coordinated and participated in projects such as #Living Heritage! or Crazy for Archeology.

I have participated in the design and implementation of numerous research and knowledge transference projects on uses of heritage, visitor studies, master plans for cultural centres, the reporting of historical and archeological heritage assessment, data analysis, and heritage inventories. I have covered a wide range of areas as a project manager at the University of Girona, and has solid knowledge of European programmes that fund cultural research and projects.

During this week I’d like to tweet about the Catalan cultural heritage. I hope you join us.
