Curator #48: Àngela Casanovas

ÀngelaCasanovasHi! I’m Àngela Casanovas. I live in Girona, a very nice city near the Costa Brava and the Eastern Pyrenees. For me it’s the perfect place, neither too big, nor too small and also a charming site to stay. My origins are in Central Catalonia, in the area called Alta Anoia, a traditionally agricultural area with extensive cereal crops that have a rustic but beautiful landscape.

I work as an Agronomist Engineer for the agricultural cooperatives in Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of Catalonia (FCAC). This represents 70,000 farmers associated to over 200 cooperatives specialized in a wide range of sectors, from swine to wine, including oil, fruit or rice .Agriculture and livestock are essential for the regional balance and to ensure food sovereignty for our country. Cooperatives production let us to get sustainable and quality products in short food supply chains.

My passion are my kids, and my hobbies include trekking in the Pyrenees. I love any sport that can be practiced outdoors. Catalonia, with a rich diversity of landscapes offers many opportunities to enjoy running or biking in nature.

I’m honoured to become a curator of @catalanvoices and I’ll try to contribute showing our little and beautiful country. I hope you enjoy it!
